FINAL 'DAY TYPE'

My final letters

My final poster which promotes my Typeface.
I tried to include a variety of different examples of my font to give the viewer a good understanding of how it would look in a heading, body of text and in different sizes.
I included a cool grey and warm reds for some of the text and background to make the poster more visually pleasing. I also decided to put the name of my typeface (Day Type) diagonal to make it more eye catching and strong.

ROUGH SKETCHS

These where my two shapes which i started off with. this allowed me to piece together letters fast and simply. Because these shapes are in most letters i.e P , B, O , L , D, etc. i was easy to create my typeface and keep it all in the same style.
shape which i created to make the curves in some of the letters. this enabled me to create letters faster and more accurately. As you can see here the shape/stroke in the top left corner was used to create the S in the bottom right corner.
Playing around with more letters and how they look.
Started building my typeface in illustrator.
Practiced just drawing different styles of letters. using different stress or serifs.
